The couple also really loves poetry and all things French. They told me that their favorite poets were Rumi and Drake. I choose two poems of theses writers that fit well to their love story and into the flow of their intimate wedding ceremony. As their English speaking celebrant in Paris I also found a beautiful French wedding reading. In order to incorporate a little Parisian touch I read it for them in French and in English during their wedding ceremony.

The couple also had an inspiring idea how to incorporate a French touch with a very special wedding guestbook. They prepared a vintage suitcase as well as many beautiful vintage Parisian postcards. Instead of writing into a traditional guestbook their guests would write on these postcards. They would then put the Paris postcards into the suitcase. H & C met when she just had moved to New York. He asked her out to visit the Guggenheim Museum together. However their date did not end after the museum visit but they ended up spending the entire day together. The couple said: “Everything felt so easy and natural, and we had the impression that we could be our authentic selves when being together.”

The first trip they took together as a couple was to visit Paris. After spending 10 consecutive days together for the first time without fights or disagreements they knew that they had found the real deal.

A few years later back in Paris C proposed to H in the same restaurant that they had been to during their first trip to Paris. He popped the question on a balcony overlooking the Eiffel Tower. And H said: “Oui!”
