How can this intimate wedding in Paris inspire you?
H & C planned their intimate wedding in Paris at the famous hotel Ritz. Paris has a special place in their hearts because they already fell in love and got engaged in the city of love. (Don’t miss their love story further below!)
It can feel challenging to plan a destination wedding from afar. So maybe the approach of H & C can help you simplifying your destination wedding planning. Let me tell you a bit more about their intimate wedding in Paris at the hotel Ritz:
First of all H & C decided for an intimate wedding. Only their closest family and dearest friends were traveling with them to France. Clearly destination wedding planning is much easier with only 40 guests as well as only one maid of honor and one best man to coordinate. So keep it small in order to keep it simple!
Moreover the couple got some help from a great team of Paris wedding vendors. Hop down to the next paragraph and I tell you which wedding professional you should consider hiring for your destination wedding in Paris.
Get help planning your intimate wedding in Paris
That’s why H & C decided to hire a wedding planner based in Paris. This will definitely make things easier for every couple deciding for a destination wedding in France. First you don’t have to do the planning from the other side of the world alone and possibly encounter language barriers or cultural differences. Second on your wedding day you can fully focus on each other and your guest.
Also your local wedding planner and English speaking Paris officiant can help you incorporating a Parisian touch into your wedding ceremony and celebration. (Read & see more about the French below!)
PRO TIP: Take care what kind of destination wedding planner you need and hire! Some focus on wedding design and are mainly amazing when it’s about beautiful decoration, details and florals. Some focus on planning and are perfect organizers and coordinators – you will definitely sleep better having them by your side. Wedding planners who do both design and planning really well are rare. Paris wedding planner Fete in France who created this intimate wedding in Paris are definitely some of these rare gems who are good with both!
Bespoke ceremony and celebration with a Parisian touch
As H & C Paris officiant I wrote a ceremony script for them mainly focusing on their beautiful Parisian love story. (Don’t miss it, you find it further below!) The couple also really loves poetry and all things French. They told me that their favorite poets were Rumi and Drake. I choose two poems of theses writers that fit well to their love story and into the flow of their intimate wedding ceremony. As their English speaking celebrant in Paris I also found a beautiful French wedding reading. In order to incorporate a little Parisian touch I read it for them in French and in English during their wedding ceremony.
The couple also had an inspiring idea how to incorporate a French touch with a very special wedding guestbook. They prepared a vintage suitcase as well as many beautiful vintage Parisian postcards. Instead of writing into a traditional guestbook their guests would write on these postcards. They would then put the Paris postcards into the suitcase. What a beautiful Parisian keepsake to always remind H & C on their intimate wedding in Paris at the hotel Ritz!
PRO TIP: As Paris officiant I usually encourage my couples to not read their ceremony script before their wedding day. Out of experience the ceremony will feel so much more emotional, funny and romantic for you both when you don’t know every single word before. I instead would send you a detailed program so that you are familiar with the flow of the ceremony. Also I will always ask you beforehand whether there are things that I should or should NOT mention.
However if you feel safer reading the script before your wedding day then I of course completely understand and respect your decision. H & C for instance felt reassured reading the ceremony script for their intimate wedding in Paris at the hotel Ritz beforehand.
A Love story deeply connected with Paris
H & C met when she just had moved to New York. He asked her out to visit the Guggenheim Museum together. However their date did not end after the museum visit but they ended up spending the entire day together. The couple said: “Everything felt so easy and natural, and we had the impression that we could be our authentic selves when being together.”
The first trip they took together as a couple was to visit Paris. After spending 10 consecutive days together for the first time without fights or disagreements they knew that they had found the real deal.
A few years later back in Paris C proposed to H in the same restaurant that they had been to during their first trip to Paris. He popped the question on a balcony overlooking the Eiffel Tower. And H said: “Oui!”
Whenever the couple comes to Paris it brings back magical memories and feelings. So it was obvious for them that they had to get married in Paris as well. For their intimate wedding in Paris they chose the beautiful hotel Ritz as venue for ceremony and reception.
