The magic of renewing wedding vows in Paris
Before I tell you about this Notre Dame vow renewal just one thing. I truly love wedding and elopement ceremonies: A moment full of suspense when two lovers become husband and wife. The excitement of the wedding day, which marks the beginning of a shared future with plenty of promising plans and projects.
But what is touching me even more is when a married couple is renewing wedding vows after being married for many years or even decades. Those couples surely did not only see the rosy sides of love throughout all those years together! They already faced challenges and supported each other even in difficulties. Married couples had to make compromises and find ways in dealing with each other’s weaknesses.
Personal wedding vows & blessing of hands
Just like Brenda & Vince: In spite of all the challenges that life can bring their feelings did not wear off. Instead their love is persistent and enduring – and it remained vivid. So after 27 years of marriage and raising four kids together this couple is still so romantic to fly off to Paris for their wedding anniversary. To renew wedding vows they decided to come back to Paris where they already spent their honeymoon 27 years ago.
For their vow renewal ceremony they chose a spot at the Seine Riverside with a great view on Notre Dame Cathedral. As their Paris Officiant I created a vow renewal ceremony for Brenda & Vince including the couple’s beautiful love story, their favorite poem and a blessing of their hands as a symbolic ritual to renew their union.

Besides Brenda & Vince wrote their personal vows and read them to each other during their vow renewal ceremony to reaffirm their promises. They told each other how much they appreciated their mutual acceptance and support through all the years – and how much they are still attracted to each other. “I would feel lucky to be able to pick you again”, said Vince to Brenda.
So no wonder the couple was going from tears to laughter during their Notre Dame vow renewal ceremony. And their photographer Chris Perona (Paris for Two) captured those emotional moments into beautiful pictures. He also took pictures of Brenda & Vince at the Eiffel Tower and the Seine Riverside celebrating their wedding anniversary in Paris.
I felt truly blessed to be part of Vince & Brenda’s Notre Dame vow renewal! As their celebrant in Paris I wish them all the best for their future plans: Enjoy traveling together, enjoy many more beautiful moments with your kids and grand kids – and enjoy having found each other 27 years ago!
Brenda about the Paris Officiant:
“Laura officiated our vow renewal in Paris and did an exceptional job. She was extremely helpful in organizing the ceremony and made it very personal, intimate and memorable. She was prompt at responding to all our emails and was incredibly accommodating when our photography session ran late. It was a magnificent day and thanks to Laura, it is one we will always cherish.”
