Destination wedding in France in a French chateau
Amanda & Nobel planned a bilingual wedding ceremony in France because of their intercultural backgrounds. Amanda is Chinese who was born and raised in Australia. Nobel is Chinese who was born and raised in Paris and later moved to Hong Kong. Their families and friends come from all over the world and speak different languages. So the couple wanted a bilingual wedding ceremony in English and French that all guests were able to follow.
Amanda & Nobel decided for a destination wedding in France. Amanda said: “With all our friends and family being so international we thought it was a nice destination to bring everyone together.” They planned their wedding ceremony in France in beautiful Château d’Ermenonville near Paris. The wedding was a big family reunion and the opportunity for many guests to visit France for the first time.
Getting married in France was very important for Nobel. He said: “I have never pictured my wedding taking place somewhere else than France. I was born and raised in Paris. When I was living in Paris, I think I never took the time to see the real Paris. Since I’m abroad, I appreciate every single thing about Paris: the architecture, the atmosphere, the food, the people… I fully understand now when people say Paris is beautiful. Every time I visit back, I feel this magic in the air.”
English and French: Bilingual wedding ceremony in France
Wedding planner Lucie created a beautiful floral arch for the outdoor wedding ceremony. The wedding arch – fitting with the coral color theme of the wedding – looked beautiful against the backdrop of the French chateau.
As Amanda & Nobel’s French and English speaking celebrant in France I was happy to prepare a bilingual ceremony for the international couple. To create a romantic and personal wedding ceremony in France I included their beautiful love story.
Amanda & Nobel met through common friends in a bar in Hong Kong. They were fascinated by each other and got along well from the get go. But a few days later Amanda had to fly back to Sidney where she lived. But they kept in touch over the long distance, messaged and phoned each other almost every day.
When Nobel visited Amanda in Australia 6 month later they both realized that they were in love with each other. So Amanda decided to move to Hong Kong that they could finally be together. Not even two years later during a trip to Japan Nobel proposed to Amanda in Kyoto Botanical Garden – and the rest is history.
Marriage is a long journey together
As Amanda & Nobel’s wedding celebrant in France I also encouraged bridesmaid Yuni to perform a reading during the outdoor ceremony. Yuni had found a beautiful and romantic wedding poem. It was fitting to Amanda & Nobel’s long distance love story with happy ending and to their passion about traveling.
To make their wedding ceremony even more meaningful and romantic Amanda & Nobel read their personal wedding vows to each other. Not just the bride and groom but also many guests had tears in their eyes. By sharing something so personal with their guests Amanda & Nobel showed how much their family and friends mean to them. Amanda & Nobel said: “Marriage is a commitment we make to each other and that we want to share with all our families and friends. Our wedding is the start of a long journey in which we experience everything together whether good or bad.”

Amanda & Nobel’s kind words about the Paris Officiant:
“It was an absolute pleasure of ours to have Laura be our celebrant at our wedding! She was lovely and very easy to work with. Laura is extremely professional, helpful and organized. Our wedding celebrant made everything simple, she helped us with our personalized vows and ensured everything flowed through! She also gave us many tips for the ceremony! Her readings in English and in French were romantic and very touching!
We’ve had so many guest comment how wonderful she was!!! It couldn’t have been more perfect. For anyone looking for the perfect officiant I absolutely highly recommend Laura! Thank you Laura for making this such a beautiful ceremony. We couldn’t have done it without you ! “
